| New supercar | Monte Carlo Automobile ALA 50 |
Monaco is home to the oldest Grand Prix on the calendar and a good few fast drivers, but now it has its own supercar maker. The Monte Carlo Automobile company has come up with the ALA 50 to celebrate 25 years of the firm being in business.
The ALA 50 is dedicated to Prince Albert of Monaco and uses a carbon fibre chassis and body. Its styling borrows from Le Mans endurance racers and the company's founder Fulvio Maria Ballabio says it is one of the most aerodynamic supercars in the world.
Unsurprisingly given the car's looks, there are plans to race three of the 650bhp V8-powered ALA 50s at Le Mans in 2009.
The MCA ALA 50 will be officially launched later in 2009, with road-going versions made to order with an estimated price of £200,000.
